Ocean Zones
The ocean is divided up into different Zones, and those Zones are based on Depth of the ocean (usually in meters). The ocean is separated into different zones to help give a better perspective on the ocean.The fish we will be learning about live in some of the deeper zones, such as the Bathypelagic Zone. The highest Zone is called the Twilight Zone, and it is located at about 150 meters below the surface of the ocean. 1,000 Meters below the surface is the Dark Zone. The middle zone is called the Abyssal zone and is located just about 1,800 meters below the surface of the ocean. The deepest zone is called the bathypelagic zone, and ranges from 1,000 meters (Dark zone) to 4,000 meters, it is also often called the midnight zone.
